
Case Study 994 for Dell XPS Laptop Battery Can't be Charged
Mr Y came to our service center due to his Dell XPS Laptop battery can't be charged after few years of using. He contacted Dell Authorised Service Provider, but the replacement battery can't be source anymore according to the Dell's customer service.
The technician starts troubleshooting, notice that the battery might need to be replaced due to the age of laptop, and take note of the battery's part number. We tried to source for several parts' suppliers in Malaysia but couldn't get this, so we decided to purchase from oversea for the OEM part replacement. After 10 working days, the part arrived.
The spoilt battery is replaced with a known good battery and the problem was solved. During troubleshooting, the technician noticed that the is very dirty and dusty, the technician clean the laptop as our standard procedure.
